Annerley Football Club have officially started the upgrade to a full LED sports field by installing 4 x 1000W Andromeda Ceramic High Mast luminiares and the results are extremely bright!
When one of the central poles illuminating the field was damaged in the cyclone Debbie aftermath, Empyrean was contacted to provide an LED sports field alternative to the traditional lights. The timing was perfect with the highly anticipated release of Empyrean’s 1000W light launched, this project would be the first to feature the technology.
After initial designs, it was clear that installing 4 x 1000W luminiares on the top cross arm of the 2 x centre poles would be ideal and enable the club to save on maintenance and power costs for many years to come. Empyrean’s design ensured that the field would maintain the required 100lux average and the centre of the field would be a minimum of 110lux.
Installation was completed in July and all players, coaches and committee members are wrapped with how well the middle of the field has been lit. Looking ahead the club is keen to replace each of the remaining 4 poles (2 x 2000W lights on each) with our 1000W solution and bring the overall lux level of the field up to 130lux minimum.
