Project Description
Our Andromeda™ LED Park luminaires allow Morwell Bowls Club to become one of the first lawn bowls clubs in Victoria to offer undercover bowling both during the day and at night.
In February 2015 the bowling green was used for the first time and protected patrons from both wet weather and extreme heat while allowing them to continue playing at night thanks to our Andromeda™ LED Park luminaires.
We provided over 30 Andromeda™ LED Park lights as an energy efficient solution to illuminate the roof and sufficiently light up the bowling green. In addition, we were able to colour match our luminaires to the exact white RAL colour used to cover the green.
Key Deliverables on our Andromeda™ luminaires:
- Reduces the clubs carbon footprint
- Contains no harmful or toxic substances
- Uses 50% less electricity than high intensity luminaires
- Eliminates maintenance costs for 5-6 years
- Instant start up with 70% less Amp requirements on the initial start-up load
The Morewell Bowling Club has been operating since 1913 when the club was formed with a 3 rink green and 41 founding members. During the 1920’s an additional rink was built with plans put forward in 1945 to construct a seven rink green on the new site which was leased from the Shire and was part of the recreation reserve. This is now the present site of the bowling club in Hazelwood Road with the green fully constructed and funded entirely by it’s dedicated members with it’s official grand opening on New Year’s Day in 1949. This club has been functioning for more than 100 years which we find absolutely incredible. We love knowing our lights feature in facilities with such a rich history in Australia. If you would like to visit their bowls club, please feel free to visit their website to learn more about their facility and possibly swing by for a couple of games and a cheeky beverage.
